City Tour in Cusco - Machu Picchu Tour.

Basic Cusco: 3 days, 2 nights

Day 01.- Cusco in City Tour

Main Square of CuscoMain Square of CuscoReception, welcome and transfer to the chosen hotel. Rest in the morning to acclimatize to the high altitude. At 13:30 we will start the City Tour visiting the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) and The Convent of Santo Domingo. We will continue with a visit to the museum of the Cathedral, where we will observe the colonial art of XVI and XVIII centuries, like paintings and marks. Later we will visit the archaeological sites bordering the city of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara and Tambomachay. Return to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 02.- Machu Picchu - Cusco

Machu Picchu: Inca's cityMachu Picchu: Inca's cityBreakfast. Very early in the morning (at around 05: 30 hrs.) A car will pick us from the chosen hotel and transfer us to the train station. The train leaves at 6:00am and arrives to Machu Picchu town (Aguas Calientes) Station at around 10:00am. Immediately we will take the bus that will bring us to Machu Picchu. We will continue with a guided visit all throughout this entire magical place during 2 hours, knowing the temple of the three windows, the solar clock, among others, at the end we will have a free time until 12:00 hrs. Then the bus will pick us up and take us to the town of Aguas Calientes. The train back to Cusco leaves at 4:00pm. arriving at this city at 8:00pm. approximately. Overnight.

Day 03.- Cusco out

Breakfast. At an appropriate time, transfer to the station/airport to return to the city of origin.

SALKANTAY TREK TO MACHU PICCHU 7 DAYS 6 NIGHT 

Introduction: This route offer marvelous views and experiences in the typical Andean world. Taking this route you will have the opportunity to know the path which is linking the famous Inca Trail meeting there on the fifth day, during the trekking you can appreciate a diversity of Flora, Fauna, tropical sites, glacier peaks getting finally to the lost Incas city "Machupicchu".

Day 1: Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa

Pick up from your hotel at 4:30 am. In a private bus then drive to Mollepata. Passing Izcuchaca communities and Limatambo. In Mollepata have time right for our breakfast. After this point we begin our ascent on foot to 3100 m Cruzpata over a slight rise can appreciate different types of plants, native birds, the Apurimac River (which is the deepest in Peru) and a community of irrigation canal. After about six hours walk arrive at our first camp Soraypampa 3900 m from here we can appreciate the majestic Apu Salkantay distance 6271 m. overnight.

Day 2: Soraypampa - Paso de Salkantay - Inca Chiriasca

After our breakfast, we leave with the direction of the Abra de Salkantay along a trail climb with many variations in climate which will see small groups of houses, flora, small wild birds and spectacular views of the snow peak of 5902 Humantay m After about six hours walk arrive at our second camp Chiriasca 3980 masl Inca from here we can appreciate the majestic mountains of Salkantay 6271 masl overnight.

Day 3: Inca Chiriasca - Sisay Pampa - Canal Inca

After spending the night, we begin our 4 hour steep climb to the pass of Inca Sisay Pampa (4850msnm) the top of our hike, which will have breathtaking views of snow-covered Salkantay. Immediately descend to our lunch point Sisay Pampa, a flat area from which one can see the neighboring valleys of Salkantay (you may see condors in this area.) After lunch descend to Pampacahuana community where there is an original Inca canal. Where is our second camp. Overnight.

Day 4: Canal Inca - Inca Rakay - Huayllabamba

We wake up about 7:00 am., After enjoying breakfast we start our hike the hardest of the day, the walk is a precipitous rise and narrow (9 km). Along this climb, the landscape changes from sierra to puna (a dry and high area with little vegetation). Following to the community of Wayllabamba (3000 m) in the bottom portion will visit the archaeological complex of Inca Racay (Paucar court) that is composed of various buildings such as plazas, walls, terraces rectangular. After about four hours of walking Wayllabamba reach, where we stopped for our lunch. This is the point at which we begin our Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. As pack animals are not allowed on the Inca Trail, so we bid farewell to our horsemen and horses and in their place we were introduced to the porters who will take care of loading the camping equipment and food to the end. Our third night.

Day 5: Wayllabamba - Warmiwañusca - Pacaymayo

After our breakfast, we start our second day's walk, through Tres Piedras, Llulluchapampa and reaching the peak of the Inca Trail Warmiwañusca (dead woman) to 4200 m Stop for lunch at appropriate time. Continuing the path descend to our camp Pacaymayo (3500 m), Camp, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Pacaymayu - Runkurakay - Sayacmarca - Wiñayhuayna

After our breakfast, the third day of trekking tours to the ruins of Runkurakay and Sayacmarca at lunch. Then we walk the road to get Puyupatamarca (cloud city) another important archaeological site. After a short walk leads to our last camp Wiñayhuayna (forever young). Visit the resort. Camp, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Wiñayhuayna - Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes - Cusco

Before sunrise, about 4:30 am. After our breakfast, we begin a short hike up to Inti Punku (Puerta del Sol), which has a fantastic view of Machu Picchu. Guided tour of close to two hours for the main temples of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, then have free time to climb Huayna Picchu. In the afternoon we went to the town of Aguas Calientes to catch our train back to Ollantaytambo and then bus to Cusco.
Day 6: The National Institute of Culture is to establish that some groups stay overnight in Wiñayhuayna. Usually the groups that get to stay overnight in Wiñayhuayna are those who made their advance registration by that date. As spaces are ending the INC determines that other groups should Phuyupatamarca left overnight in a few hours before Wiñayhuayna. There is no way to choose this. We advise to book more in advance.
7 day: Huayna Picchu is located behind the mountain where Machu Picchu in order to take up aerial view of the Inca citadel. There is a checkpoint at Machu Picchu to climb Huayna Picchu. You must enter your name and receive a ticket to climb Huayna Picchu. The guide provides information how to get the ticket, but need not pay anything else. Only 400 people can visit a day divided into two shifts. Machu Picchu receives over 1000 visitors a day and generally lacking quotas to climb Huayna Picchu. No book has before. Generally, travelers arriving by other paths get quotas because they reach more before Machu Picchu. In order to get better up early and watch the sunrise

Day 1: Cusco - Mollepata - Soraypampa

We left at 4:30 a.m. City of Cusco and pass by the towns of Izcuchaca and Limatambo, we Mollepata approximately 9.00am. makes a stop for a light breakfast and then start our first walk along the support staff, we have a Stop for lunch in the field of Silcakancha sector and after three hours of walking Soraypampa spend the night. Overnight.

Day 2: Soraypampa - Colpapampa - Challhuay

Noting several varieties of orchids and waterfalls of great magnitude and in turn appreciates the variety of coffee grown, fruit trees, bananas, pomegranates and avocados, finally arrive at our third camp Santa Teresa. Overnight.

Day 4: Santa Teresa - Hydroelectric - Aguas Calientes

After our breakfast, this will be a calm day but as the walk is softer to Machu Picchu Hydroelectric place to produce electricity for consumption in the city of Cusco. Thus reaching the people of the Hydroelectric place for lunch, the place where we take leave of the support staff, here you can decide whether to continue the trek to Aguas Calientes which logically would be more ideal or take a train that transports Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes, We will have a night Hotel. Overnight.

Day 5: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

After breakfast we walk to the archaeological site of Machu Picchu and then see the sunrise at Machu Picchu, we will have a guided tour for two hours by the same professional guide who accompanied us during the trek, and then have free time where they can take pictures, climb the Huayna Picchu, among others, the same day you take the train from Aguas Calientes back to Cusco.
